NL Gold Glove Awards
Last week, Bill announced his picks for the NL Gold Glove Awards. MLB announced the official list yesterday afternoon, lets see how he did:
Pitcher: the official winner was Padres/Dodgers starter Greg Maddux, but Bill choose the Giants Matt Cain.
Catcher: the official winner was the Cardinals Yadier Molina, but Bill choose his brother, the Giants Benji Molina. Yadier wan’t even in his sights.
First Base: the official winner and Bill’s choice were the same, the Padres Adrian Gonzalez.
Second Base: the official winner was the Reds Brandon Phillips, but Bill choose Chase Utley of the World Champion Phillies. He did; however, have Phillips in second due to injury.
Third Base: the official winner was the Mets David Wright, but Bill choose the Cardinals Troy Glaus. Again, Wright wasn’t even in Bill’s top three.
ShortStop: the official winner and Bill’s choice were the same Jimmy Rollins of the World Champion Phillies.
Outfielders: the official winner and Bill’s choice were the same for all Centerfielders, the Pirates Nate McLouth, the Mets Carlos Beltran and Shane Victorino of the World Champion Phillies.
The only difference is Bill choose a Left and Right Fielders which is how I think the award should be awarded. As a reminder, Bill choose the Brewers Ryan Braun for LF and the Astros Hunter Pence in RF.
