Keith, basically you could do what you did for every team. Including the Yankees.

Let me recap for you: power-hitters throughout the lineup. Strong bullpen. Solid rotation. Weak division. Is that better for you?

Please check out The Zoner’s last blog post..ZONER’S MONDAY MORSELS!

So let me see here... all the Sox need to be "in the mix for the Central title" is to have all their players who had career years in 2008 to be as good or better this year, all of their aging sluggers to fail to decline, all of their players who had a down year in 2008 to rebound, and all of their marginally talented rookies to step up as big contributers? Piece of cake!

4th place, 72-76 wins.

It is surprising how the Sox ended up as champs last year. If it wasn't the Tigers, most would have picked the Indians and even the Twins ahead of the Sox. They had a very impressive campaign, but with much changing this off season, it will be interesting to see how they fare in 2009 as the central seems more competitive than ever with even the Royals coming into the picture.

[...] Baseball Reflections wrote an interesting post today on Reflections On the White SoxHere’s a quick excerpt2008 was an odd year in the AL Central . A lot of people–this commentator included– thought that the Tigers had the division won before pitchers and catchers even reported to camp. Oops. They ended up in last place. And while it took an extra game, the Chicago White Sox were your AL Central champs. Cue the cliche: that’s why they play the games. But even though the Sox made the postseason, White Sox GM Ken Williams still made significant changes to the team during the offseason. He sent J [...]
