At the beginning of this season, Kazmir's relatively low salary, young age, and apparent ace-stuff would have made him a huge asset on the trade market. With tons of pitching and Kazmir's quietly down year last year, this was the time to move him and get a big return. Sonnanstine would not have produced the same. Of course, Kazmir's recent injury is allegedly due to bad mechanics, so if he can correct that, maybe he'll correct everything. Yes, but Kazmir is the only one with high-end trade value which may be lost with a bad season/major injury.
