I interviewed Fingers for a local newspaper after he made a promotional appearance for the Sacramento River Cats, the Oakland Athletics' Triple-A affiliate. On one hand, it was a big thrill to get to sit down with a Hall of Fame member and the trademark handlebar mustache was pretty cool. With that said, I found Fingers somewhat dull. The most interesting thing that came out of the interview was that Fingers didn't know who Huston Street was, when I told him he had broken one of his A's team records.
