Fantasy Baseball: Who’s Running Hot and Who’s Running Cold

Visits: 0

Every now and then it’s time to check in on some players who are hot and some who are cold.
HOT
Dan Uggla (ATL)
It hasn’t been a stellar season for Ugly Dan but with 9 hits in his last 24 AB (.375), he has started to show signs of life at the plate. Uggla has also hit 5 HR with 11 RBI and 6 runs scored over that span.

Coco Crisp (OAK)

If it’s speed you need, take a look at Crisp. With 6 SB and 7 runs scored over the past week, he is certainly worth picking up. He has also gotten 9 hits in his past 22 AB.

Billy Butler (KC) –
After a first half which saw him hit 6 HR, Butler has dialed it up a notch in the second half with 7 HR since the break (including 3 in his past 23 AB. He has also collected 11 RBI the past week.

COLD

Carlos Lee (HOU) –

Lee must have really hated to see his teammate Hunter Pence get traded to the Phillies. Lee is hitless in his last 22 AB and with several Astros dealt at the deadline, things are not loking up for the formerly reliable slugger.

Eric Thames (TOR)
In a crowded Blue Jays outfield situation, the last thing a young player needs is to go into a slump. Thames is hitless over his last 19 AB and needs to break out of his funk.

Danny Espinosa (WAS) –
After establishing himself as one of the premier second basemen in the game with a first half including 16 R and 12 SB, Espinosa has cooled off noticeably. Since the break, Espy has hit 1 HT with 0 SB and has only 3 hits to show for his last 29 AB.
