Aroldis Chapman

The Factor12 Rating (F12) is an analytic measurement utilizing league average performance to compare the value of all MLB pitchers on 60ft6in.com.

(1) Aroldis Chapman vaults into the number one position this week despite allowing his first earned run of the season on Thursday night.  The “Cuban Missile” has struck out an amazing 54 batters in 30 IP and leads MLB with a 33.188 Factor12 Rating.

(2) Gio Gonzalez remains steady in the number two spot despite a sub par effort in his last start against the Atlanta Braves.  The left-hander trails the top spot by 2.334 points.

(3) Justin Verlander drops two spots this week following a mediocre outing against the New York Yankees.  The 2011 AL Cy Young award winner looks to regain his dominant form in his next start against the Cincinnati Reds.

(4) Matt Cain is now the unquestioned ace of the San Francisco Giants pitching staff.  The right-hander currently leads the National League in WHIP and IP.

(5) James McDonald has posted a career best 2.14 ERA and 0.95 WHIP through his first 11 starts of the 2012 season.  The Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander has quietly positioned himself atop the F12 ranking during the past two weeks.
