At Seam Readers our mission is to help teach baseball and softball players of all ages one of the only constants when it comes to hitting. Seam Reading is the ability to identify a pitch based on how it looks. We say it is one of the only constants at the plate because every pitch has a certain rotation to it giving it a specific look. This skill is sometimes undertrained as well as un-taught and we want to change that. With our training system, the confusion on what to do at the plate is eliminated and Seam Readers all over the world are born.

Seam Reader is a training application for your handheld device. The app will help players learn to read the seams of the ball and advance their skills without ever setting foot on the field. The app relies on the constant of the ball spinning and the way the seams change depending on the type of pitch thrown. The app is designed to be fun and natural learning experience. The app is available now on Google Play and the Apple Store.
THE APP EXPERIENCE
In Seam Reader, all the balls and pitches use real-life analytics in RPM as well as MPH. From a little league fastball all the way up to a major league heater, the app has it all.
The mobile application will help players learn to read the seams of the ball and advance their skills without ever setting foot on the field. The app relies on the constant of the ball spinning and the way the seams change depending on the type of pitch thrown. The app is designed to be fun and natural learning experience through four different game and learning modes.
The first mode is all about learning the pitch types hence the name Learn Mode. Here the balls rotate at their proper RPMS and users can swipe through the different pitches and really learn their look.
Next is the batting cage where users can view as many reps of any specific pitch they like. Think of it as a real batting cage where reps are unlimited.
After that, is our staple game mode which is called Career Mode. Here the users can test their Seam Reading skills and try to advance through the many difficulties the mode has to offer. From little league all the way to the pros the mode has matching analytics for the perspective pitches. See how long you can last in the Majors for baseball and Olympics for softball.
Last is our newest feature, player vs player mode (Battle Pitch). We call this baseballs version of chess. Each pitch has a certain way it moves on the strike zone. Try and strike out your friends and see who can get the most hits in a 3 inning game.
What’s to Come?
In the coming months, Seam Readers will be launching new updates to the mobile app, including customization options, new game modes and a new interactive interface for enhanced learning. In addition, we have partnered with various online platforms to offer players interactive videos and content to help them become better Seam Readers as well as better players overall.
