Top MLB Teams Heading into 2021

Visits: 1

The 2020 MLB season, just like the year 2020 itself, was one for the history books. Teams sustained historic losses due to fans being unable to attend games in-person, several games were canceled entirely and there was constant concern about players’ health due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

For fans, both those who watch purely for the joy of the game and those who bet on platforms like Non Gamestop Casinos, the 2021 season brings a lot of anticipation. This anticipation stems from wanting their teams to recover from the losses of last year, both financially and performance-wise. However, some teams are entering the new season in a better position than others. Here are the top MLB teams heading in the 2021 season:

  1. The Los Angeles Dodgers: Practically no team in the league is going into the new season in better shape than the Dodgers. For one, they are the reigning champions and the holders of numerous titles over the years. On top of this, they have an impeccable roster of enviable talents such as Walker Buehler, Dustin May, Julio Urias, and Gavin Lux. Their roster is also limited in terms of financial commitments, meaning they can move players around if need be.

For anyone placing bets on the upcoming season, the Dodgers seem like a safe one.

  1. The Atlanta Braves: To understand why the Atlanta Braves are ranked so high for MLB teams in 2021, take a look at their players’ roster. They have players like Freddie Freeman, Ronald Acuna Jr., Ozzie Albies, and Dansby Swanson. They will also have Mike Soroka and Ian Anderson returning for the next season and this gives them a great competitive edge.

They hold three division titles at this point and a fourth is certainly not out of the question. Only time will tell if they can recreate their magic.

  1. San Diego Padres: The Padres are going into this new season as potential competition for the Dodgers with their lineup of  Jake Cronenworth and Trent Grisham as well as Eric Hosmer and Wil Myers who are expected to bring the same energy they did in the 2020 season.

If this does happen, the Padres could very well give the Dodgers a run for their money. They have done this in the past and 2021 could be yet another year of them gunning for the title and possibly winning it if their players deliver.

  1. Tampa Bay Rays: The Tampa Bay Rays came high on fans’ radars when they won their first division title in over a decade and seem poised to do well in the upcoming season. This win is credited to its expanded roster that they tapped into in 2020 and that they are expected to utilize once again in 2021. Wander Franco and  Randy Arozarena, in particular, are expected to make a big splash in the coming season.

The 2021 season has a lot of high expectations but the above teams are poised to take the top spots.
