Has anyone every brought their son to play at the Cooperstown All-Star Village? I’ve heard great things about it and we have the opportunity to play there this summer. I’m just looking for some more opinions on it.

I just cancelled my membership (again) today in writing. It seems the other three cancellelations by phone did not work nor did it stop them from sending me books. The flimsy, yet nice looking team blanket and two magazines I received was not worth the aggravation.

I still love baseball, tho.

As much as our hearts break for Carter, illness and only a few years of impact are not valid reasons for number retirement. He played only 600 games as a Met and overall, produced ho-hum numbers during his stay.

SLG of: .488, .439, .392, .358, .275

There are enough ways to honor Carter without diminishing the standards for Mets number retirement which I believe should remain extremely high. Piazza is next in line to join Seaver and is deserving of such.

As for Carter, he’s member of the Mets Hall of Fame and I have no doubt that upon his passing, Mets uniforms will wear #8 as arm patch for remainder of season with pregame ceremonies in his honor.
