Bill Palmer is the author of The Fireball Kid. He was born on Chicago’s South Side and raised as a White Sox fan. Although he currently lives in Los Angeles he’s still a Sox fan. He attended two of the last three World Series games played in Chicago: Game Six of the 1959 series, when he was about the age of The Fireball Kid and Game Two of the 2005 Series with his son. He’s currently working on another novel and waiting for the Sox to win another pennant so he can take his grandson to a World Series game.
