Despite the uncertainty that surrounded the 2020 MLB World Series, fans are gearing up for the upcoming season and carefully watching the offseason moves being made by various teams. This is because such moves have a massive impact on what players will represent what teams and who has a better chance of winning the World Series in the end.
Whether fans have money riding on the outcome on betting sites, find the non-Gamstop list at Casinomir, or simply want to support their favorite teams, opinions are already rolling in on who could potentially take the top spot this upcoming season. Here are a few possible candidates:
- The Tampa Bay Rays: Many fans have their eyes on the Rays as potential World Series winners and for good reason. The team, while going through some changes in its wider roster, has a formidable baseline of competent players. These include Wander Franco, as well as newcomers like Brendan McKay and Nate Lowe, who fans are excited to see in action.
At the end of the day, a team is only as strong as its players and the Tampa Bay Rays have a strong foundation of world-class players who could very well bring home the title.
- Los Angeles Dodgers: The Dodgers have been dominating the world of MLB and this makes it no surprise that they are looked at as an option to find the World Series. However, longtime players like Joc Pederson and Enrique Hernandez are free agents this offseason which could affect their final 2021 season roster and thus, their performance.
At the same time, these potential changes could allow young players like Julio Urias, Dustin May, and Tony Gonsolin a chance to shine on the pitch. Regardless of what the final roster looks like, the Dodgers are looking like good options.
- New York Yankees: Absolute legends of the sport, the Yankees have formidable players like Gerrit Cole and Deivi Garcia to their credit, even with a few potential departures. The latter, in particular, showed off his skills in the lasts season and fans are eager to see him in action for the 2021 season.
Baseball teams hardly get more recognizable or experience than the Yankees and the upcoming season might just turn out to be another notch in their impressive belt.
- Chicago White Sox: The Sox are not the usual contenders for a World Series title but they have been making strides in the last year. In fact, it was the first time in over a decade that they made it to the offseason. With players like Lucas Giolito, Dallas Keuchel, Luis Robert, and Nick Madrigal on their roster, they are starting to seem more like serious contenders for the title.
The World Series will be upon us soon and the above teams seem to be likely contenders for the title. With their roster of the worlds’ best players and some having legacies with several previous titles, we can expect to see them make headlines soon enough.
