steroidsWhile BaseballReflections.com does not in anyway promote gambling, this story is an interesting one. If someone thought that betting on football and basketball had overtaken the game in the baseball arena, they just have to look at the current odds on BookMaker.com to see where society is today.

Due to the fact that the recent Alex Rodriguez steroid scandal has garnered so much interest, BookMaker.com president Estaban Siles has created a system where fans will be cheering for positive tests.

If one goes onto that site, they will see that they can now wager money on who the next player to pop positive for steroids will be, along with some other categories.

The following are the opening lines for the next baseball hero to be caught using steroids:
-Albert Pujols +350 (or $3.50 to 1)
-Manny Ramirez +350
-Ryan Howard +350
-Mark Texeira +350
-David Ortiz +350
-Derrek Lee +350
-Justin Morneau +350
-Lance Berkman +350
-Carlos Delgado +350

The following are the odds that these players are the next athletes to admit that they have juiced.
-Barry Bonds +500
-Roger Clemens +500
-Mark McGwire +500
-Albert Pujols +1000
-Ryan Howard +800
-Carlos Delgado +1000
-Manny Ramirez +1000
-David Ortiz +1200
-The Field -5000

There is even a wager on whether or not Rodriguez will be called to testify in front of Congress. The odds on that are stated below.
-Yes, A-Rod called to Capitol Hill -250
-No, A-Rod won’t be called to Capitol Hill +120

As if baseball fans didn’t have enough to think about during this time of the year with Spring Training just starting up, they now can be rooting for positive test results. Truthfully, this really shows a side of society that may not be so positive, but it is the reality of the world we live in.
