Hot Stuff: Fantasy Baseball Players to Consider Adding

Keeping tabs on which players are hot can help when it comes to adding to your team from free agents or the waiver wire in your fantasy baseball league.

The following players are available in the majority of fantasy leagues and have been on a hot streak over the past week:

Justin Smoak (SEATTLE) – First base

Hot-hitting Seattle Mariner first baseman Justin Smoak is someone to consider for your fantasy league.

The Mariners first baseman was named American League Player of the Week after putting up three home runs, eight runs batted in and seven runs. He may never live up to the potential that Seattle hoped for when they landed him in the trade that sent Cliff Lee to the Texas Rangers in 2010. However, decent power potential and a patient approach at the plate make him worthy of a flier in deeper leagues.

Wilin Rosario (COLORADO) – Catcher
The Rockies backstop got off to a slow start to the season, but has filled in admirably for the injured Ramon Hernandez. He has been on a hot streak of late with two HRs, seven RBI and even chipped in two stolen bases over the past seven days. When Hernandez returns, Rosario should still continue to see playing time in the Mile High City.
Nyjer Morgan (MILWAUKEE) – Outfield
The speedy outfielder has played much better since joining the Brewers than he did in the latter part of his time with the Washington Nationals. Playing time has always been an issue, but Morgan has been playing well lately when given the at-bats. He has hit .375 over the past week with two SBs and a surprising two HRs during that span. Worth a look for a bench spot.
Michael Saunders (SEA) – OF
After showing some pop in the minor leagues along with an ability to get on base, the Mariners center fielder has looked weak against Major League Baseball pitchers thus far in his major league career. However, he has been streaking lately although the power still hasn’t come around and RBI could be hard to come by at the bottom of Seattle’s line-up but he may be worth riding while he is hot.
Jarrod Parker (OAKLAND) – Starting Pitcher
The Athletics starter has allowed a run over his last two starts including one against the Texas Rangers where he took a no-hitter into the seventh inning. Wins may be hard to come by due to the weak Oakland offense, but Parker should help in the peripheral pitching categories.
Keep an eye on who is hot and grab them while you can.
