MLB: Do Something Extraordinary

The MLB Fan Cave came about from the recent phenomena of the Man Cave. As Wikipedia describes it, “A man cave, sometimes a mantuary or manspace, is a male sanctuary, such as a specially equipped garage, spare bedroom, media room, den, or basement. It is not a cave but rather a metaphor describing a room inside the house, such as the basement or garage or attic or office, or outside the house such as a wood shed or tool room, where “guys can do as they please” without fear of upsetting any female sensibility about house decor or design.”

The MLB Fan Cave itself was created in 2011 by Paul DiMeo, of the TV show Extreme Makeover, by requested of Major League Baseball. It is in NY City (near the home of the MLB offices) and is a place where winners of a contest, known as Cave Dwellers,  have been selected to stay and watch every single MLB game and later post about each game online (Twitter, Facebook, MLBlogs, etc.).

Below you will find a selection of clips from that project as MLB players, celebrities and other guests do interviews or host special segments allowing fans to connect to the game in a whole new way!

The following link will bring you to a page on the MLB Fan Cave site full of photos of the cave itself and those that have been seen there…
