The Factor12 Rating (F12) is an analytic measurement utilizing league average performance to compare the value of all MLB pitchers on 60ft6in.com.

 

(1) Justin Verlander remains in the number one spot after tossing eight shutout innings against the Baltimore Orioles.  The 2011 AL Cy Young award winner leads MLB with a 31.400 F12 Rating.

 

(2) R.A. Dickey continues to hold the runner up position.  The knuckleball specialist currently has a 13-1 record, 2.72 ERA, and 1.005 WHIP.

 

(3) Felix Hernandez is on a roll.  The Seattle Mariners ace leads the AL in innings pitched and strikeouts following two brilliant starts (1 ER in 17 IP) to open the second half.

 

(4) Chris Sale slips one spot this week following his All-Star game debut.  The southpaw is currently 11-2, 2.11 ERA, and 0.976 WHIP.

 

(5) Matt Cain rounds out the Top 5 list with a 30.351 F12 Rating.  The right-hander leads the NL with a 0.955 WHIP.
