We were recently contacted by a staff member at The Bench to post this project. You can find a link to their site here: www.thebenchtrading.com They asked us to post this on their behalf for a charity they are working with.
We as an on-line community are collecting the 2008 Upper Deck Yankee Stadium Legacy set. This is a 6,600+ card set with one card for every game ever played at Yankee Stadium. After we complete the set, we will auction it off and donate the profits to The V Foundation for Cancer research. Which can be found here: www.jimmyv.org Here is the info about the set form Upper Deck. http://sports.upperdeck.com/baseball/yankeestadium/
We are asking for people to donate the cards that they pull. We hope to be able to eventually trade the duplicate cards we receive for cards we need, however, we are unable to purchase single cards form anyone. Again this set will be auctioned off for charity. Our site is over 7000 members strong and we do have a couple of baseball card shops helping us, but this is a huge set and we need your help! I am the official media contact for this project. We would like to ask for your help in promoting our project. We have a MySpace and a dedicated website for this card set project. We would really like to work together with Baseball Reflections on this project. We have contacted ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Beckett, Tuff Stuff, Upper Deck, Major League Baseball and the New York Yankees as well. I am hoping that with a little help and some national exposure that we can complete this set! Please contact us with any questions or if you have any ideas on how we can work together on this project!
Here is the MySpace page we created for the project:
