Top 5 College Prospects To Follow In 2022

There is a field filled with talent this year, which is just what the wonderful game of baseball needs right now. With so many changes and surprise moves coming from the players, we need strong hitters and strong pitchers to bring the games back to a more rounded pitch.

Right now, the Fanduel’s Baseball betting odds are showing just how tight the games are, but when these new prospects enter from the crowd, that could all change.

  1. Termarr Johnson – SS/2B

Termarr Johnson often flips between the shortstop position and the second baseman position. This 5 ft 10 inch 175 pound player is a sturdy man with a strong arm. His athletic build is why he has been placed in those favorable positions.

Often hitting with the left hand, Johnson has no problem creating speed in his hits, and his precision is immense. Eyes on point, Johnson rarely misses, and with his strong build, he can create a violent line from a 93mph fastball.

In the class of 2022, Johnson was named the best all-around hitter, but he has more than one talent. Johnson is also a speedy defense man whose preferred catch is a low ball.

  1. Jacob Berry – 3B

Jacob Berry is a 6 foot tall third baseman with a strong build. Berry is a rare switch-hitter and can easily play from both sides of the plate. We would suggest that he is best on the right side, but either way, Berry is a strong hitter.

No matter which side Berry takes, you can expect overwhelming fast speeds, direct hits, and a loud crack from the hit.

Jacob can run at 6.97 and still catch with a clean two-hand capture and throwback with a strong arm.

Of course, no one is perfect, and Berry still needs to work on his transition throws. The field isn’t his best placement, but with a bat in his hand, he is unbeatable!

  1. Andruw Jones – RHP/OF

Jones is a formidable right-handed pitcher and an outstanding outfielder. Measuring at 6 ft 3 inches, this towering player has a lean build, but don’t let that fool you.

Lean and long, Jones is a 6.31 runner, which is why his outfielder position is coveted!

However, we cannot ignore this player’s pitching. The accuracy of his arms is immaculate.

The area Jones needs to work on is his hitting. Although he has a strong hand with a good speed and great aim, he still needs to get stronger to reach that all-important homerun.

We only mention it to bring some realism to his review, but he doesn’t need it! We expect a lot of teams to see Jones’ potential.

  1. Logan Tanner – RHP/C/3B

Logan Tanner is a right-handed pitcher, a catcher, and a third baseman. This 6ft 2 inches hulking man weighs 195 pounds. He is a well-built player with a durable stance.

But, when Tanner is behind the plate, crouched as a catcher, you can see how flexible he is! Tanner has a well-balanced stance and moves in a fluid motion, which he uses more ways than one.

Tanner’s swing is just as fluid, which is surprising considering his strength. His fastballs can reach speeds of 93 mph!

You can see all of these amazing skills in his 3rd base plays too. A long extension of the arm is just what we need from this giant! You can expect Tanner to make big waves in the prospects!

  1. Brock Porter – UT/RHP

Porter is another prospect in the 6 foot measurements, this time reaching 6 foot 4 inches! Porter is a tall man with a strong build, and it looks like he can still do some growing.

Porter knows how to confuse a pitcher, as he can easily move from fast to slow hitting. Either way, his delivery holds steady, and he can reach speeds of 97 mph. Porter’s arm is ridiculously fast, and we expect it to keep on increasing!

When it comes to pitching, Porter can change up his motion at the last minute. Forcing hitters to move from right to left. He also throws a mean curveball.

Out of all the pitchers in the prospect, Porter has the highest level of athleticism and skill. We cannot wait to see how his MLB career progresses!

  1. Bonus – Elijah Green – RHP/OF

We couldn’t create this list without including Elijah Green! This outstanding outfielder has amazing placement and can create perfect angles from his solid hits. As a right-handed hitter, Green has explosive timing with fantastic accuracy.

We can expect great things from Green!

Summary

A lot can happen between now and the July drafts, but so far, we have high hopes for our current prospects! The college players seem to be all-rounders, so let’s see if they can handle the MLB.
