In 1922, Hall of Famer John McGraw managed the New York Giants, the team’s opponent for the Fall Classic was the New York Yankees who featured Babe Ruth and Hall of Fame manager Miller Huggins. The result was that the Giants swept the Yankees in Four games.  Ruth’s batting average in the series was .118.

90 years later, the San Francisco Giants sweep the Detroit Tigers in four games to become the Champions of Baseball in 2012! The hitting duo for the Detroit Tigers was Triple Crown Winner, Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder. During the regular season they both averaged close to 40 home runs, yet in the 2012 World Series they combined for an average of close .200 with Cabrera hitting one home run and making the last out via strike out! See a resemblance?

In 1954was the last time the “New York” Giants would win a World Series in New York City.  That year Willie Mays won the batting title, Most Valuable Player, and made the famous catch.  This year Buster Posey wins the Batting title, most likely will win Comeback Player of the year, and Most Valuable Player.  Like the title says: See the resemblance? Wow, I  just wished they were back in The Big Apple”!
