DOMINICAN REPUBLIC WINS 2023 CARIBBEAN WORLD SERIES

Perfect month, right time! The Dominican Republic, represented by the Tigres del Licey, won the 2023 Caribbean Series with a 3-0 victory over host club Venezuela in Caracas on Friday night. This is the 22nd time the country has won the series. DR struck first and never held back.

D.R. scored single runs in the top of the second, fifth and ninth innings, yet the real hero was starter Cesar Valdez. Who’s performance on the pitching mound was the spirit of Baseball Hall of Famers Juan Marichal and Pedro Martinez combined. For many in the Dominican Republic he put on a Cy Young Award performance throwing 6 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing only three hits. To add he walked no one, and struck out Six. while yielding only three hits, walking none and striking out six. The bullpen finished the job then the celebration began with the music of Bachata, and Merengue!

For many Baseball fans everywhere after seeing the performance of this country, this reporter and many other Baseball fans will agree this country is a sure favorite to win the World Baseball Classic 2023.
