I would have to say Mariano Rivera of the NY Yankees. Being a Boston Red Sox fan all my life, it kills me to say that but what is true is true. The man makes me dislike him against the Red Sox but he is a very good closer!

As recently as two years ago & I would have agreed with you, but now I’m just not sure. Mariano just hasn’t been what he use to be these past few years. I’d have to go with either Trevor Hoffman (current all time saves leader who plays for the Padres), K-Rod (Angels) or Papelbon (Red Sox).
